California lineman killed in workplace accident

Most people in the United States report to their jobs every shift with the expectation that they will return home in the same condition they arrived. Unfortunately, the reality is that there are a variety of different hazards in the workplace that could result in a workplace accident with serious consequences. In fact, a fatal incident in California is currently under investigation.

The accident involved a 42-year-old man who had only recently begun work as an employee of a California city. Reports indicate that he was an experienced electrical lineman. Unfortunately, he lost his life in an accident that happened just before 10 a.m. on a day in mid-November.

Reports indicate that the man was working with a five-member crew. At the time of the accident, the crew was responding to a request to update a transformer. The man was injured during this process and died after being transported to the hospital, but the details of the accident are unclear.

Reports indicate that the man leaves behind four children and his wife. As a result of the workplace accident, his family members are now left to cope with life without him, including both emotional and financial consequences. While officials work to determine the exact cause of the accident, the community is left to rally around the family. Despite the generosity that some families experience following such a tragic loss, the cost of raising four children is expensive, especially when coping with the loss of wages. As such, employers in California are required to provide workers’ compensation insurance benefits that will allow the family to focus on their emotional recovery rather than their ability to pay their bills.
