Most every job requires instructions as to safety precautions and regulations, as there can be an accident or mishap in nearly every industry. Jobs requiring workers to work at extreme heights can be extremely dangerous, and someone can become injured on the job despite the safety precautions or regulations at hand. Recently, in California, a window washer was injured on the job as he fell many stories below.
The accident happened on a Friday morning as the window washer was 11 stories up. It is believed that the worker was on the roof moving some kind of equipment when he somehow fell. He landed on the roof of a car below while that car was in motion and in the midst of turning.
The man who fell and landed on the car was said to be conscious at the time that he received medical attention. He was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of injuries that were said to be life-threatening. The driver of the car he landed on was apparently not injured in the incident.
The fall is currently being investigated by the California OSHA. When someone is injured on the job and the injuries are pretty severe, as seems to be the case here, the worker may accumulate extensive medical bills and need ongoing medical help to recover. In California and other states, workers’ compensation benefits are designed to help workers in this same situation and ensure that they get the medical help and financial support they need during a difficult time.
