A construction worker suffered a work injury after he fell one floor inside a house being built at an out-of-state construction site recently. Officials say emergency responders arrived at the residential construction site just after noon on a recent Monday in November. When a construction worker in California or elsewhere suffers a work injury, they are typically entitled to submit a claim for workers’ compensation.

The accident occurred on Nov. 30. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and attempted to assist the victim, who was presumably on the second floor, only to discover that the home did not have any stairs at the time of the accident. After reaching and stabilizing the victim, they were able to remove him through a window on the second floor, and he was then lowered to the ground, officials said.

Police Lt. Jason Ferraro, the department’s public information officer, confirmed that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was contacted following the accident, and the federal agency is expected to conduct its own investigation. The man was taken to a local hospital’s emergency room. His condition and specific injuries were not clear.

When individuals suffer a work injury in California, they may sometimes be forced to miss work and may find that they accrued lofty medical bills as well. Fortunately, workers who are the victims of work-related injuries are typically entitled to submit workers’ compensation claims in order to alleviate some of the financial pressures of missing work due to a work-related injury. Individuals who find themselves in this situation typically consult an experienced workers’ compensation lawyer who can assist them in submitting their claims.
