Construction worker suffers work injury in accident

On Behalf of | Feb 4, 2016 | Industrial Workers' Accidents |

A construction worker was recently injured in an accident that involved a construction roller. The accident occurred in San Francisco on a recent Thursday in January, the San Francisco Fire Department says. When California construction workers suffer a work injury, they are entitled to file a workers’ compensation claim to receive benefits to aid them while they recover from the injuries sustained.

Firefighters with the San Francisco Fire Department were dispatched to the city’s Sunset District at 12:10 p.m. Upon their arrival four minutes later, firefighters discovered an injured male construction worker. The 50-year-old worker lay next to a construction roller and was in need of medical attention.

The man was rushed to a local general hospital, and his condition is currently unknown, according to an SFFD spokesperson. The circumstances surrounding how this incident occurred have not been established but will hopefully be revealed in a forthcoming investigation. The San Francisco police department, as well as Cal/OSHA, will be conducting this investigation into the incident.

Construction accidents in which employees suffer a work injury can leave employees injured and unable to continue with their job for a considerable amount of time — sometimes weeks or even months. The victim of the incident is legally entitled and deserves to be compensated for the total extent of all financial losses incurred as a result of the accident, including medical bills, missed work and rehabilitation needs. Just like all other California workers, construction workers and victims of construction accidents deserve a total financial and physical recovery.
