Worker suffers fatal workplace injuries in industrial accident

On Behalf of | Mar 2, 2020 | Workplace Injuries |

Most people in California and across the country are so accustomed to their routines that they perform in their everyday lives that it may be easy to overlook a missing step. Unfortunately, what may seem like a simple oversight can ultimately have tragic consequences, especially when it involves heavy machinery. In fact, a man in another state recently lost his life as a result of workplace injuries, reportedly related to his use of a truck.

The incident that led to the man’s death reportedly happened one morning on a day in mid-February. According to reports, the man exited his vehicle at a project site that involved an underground tank. Investigators believe that the man did not put the vehicle into park.

Unfortunately, he is said to have been pinned between the vehicle and a “piece of construction apparatus.” Rescue workers transported the man to the hospital in critical condition. However, he died from his injuries the following day.

The vast majority of workers in California and across the country are committed to safety; however, this case shows how quickly a work-related incident can become tragic. Unfortunately, this man’s family must now face the emotional and financial consequences of their loss. Because of the potential for suffering workplace injuries, employers are required to provide workers’ compensation insurance benefits that can help with lost wages and medical costs. In the event of a fatal incident such as this, these benefits can also provide for funeral expenses. Because most people suffering the unexpected loss of a family member do not feel capable of negotiating with an insurance company, many seek guidance from an experienced professional who can help them come to an fair settlement.
