Workplace accidents are always hoped to be avoided, but unfortunately, a sudden incident can take place at a moment’s notice. It is true that with the proper safety equipment and precautions in place the likelihood of an accident decreases. However, unforeseeable circumstances can sometimes arise that lead to a situation in which an employee becomes injured on the job.

Two workers in California were transported to hospitals after they were involved in a workplace accident. The situation took place at an apartment complex that is under construction. The two workers were reportedly in the basement of the complex when an electrical explosion and fire broke out. The event took place just before noon.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene and found the two injured workers. One of the individuals reportedly suffered critical burns to a significant portion of his body. The other worker was noted as having suffered moderate burns due to the explosion. The incident is currently being investigated in order to determine the cause. Cal-OSHA was listed as being a part of the investigation.

When an individual is seriously injured on the job, they can face difficulties physically and financially. Because these injuries were suffered while on the job, the injured parties may potentially be entitled to workers’ compensation. These benefits could allow for assistance in paying for medical bills and compensating for lost wages due to time away from work. If the parties involved in this accident believe they may qualify for such benefits, information on workers’ compensation in California may be able to shed light on the situation.
