A construction accident that lead to the injury of two construction workers occurred at an out-of-state site on a recent Friday in April. The two workers were working at the same site where a deadly collapse had occurred four years ago. When California workers are injured on the job, they are fully within their legal rights to file workers’ compensation claims.
Authorities have not ascertained the exact cause of the incident, and they are currently in the process of completing their investigation. Police say that the accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. The incident occurred when a construction beam being installed fell, injuring the two workers.
The injured workers had been working in a parking garage that was under construction. Fire officials managed to safely bring them down by utilizing a basket and the ladder truck, the chief with Miami Dade Fire Rescue reported. According to fire department officials, one of the workers suffered serious injuries, while the other suffered injuries that were not considered life threatening. A parking garage collapse occurred at the same site in 2012, which killed four while injuring seven others.
Any worker who works in construction knows that the job includes a high amount of risk. However, this does not diminish the fact that any worker who is injured on the job has the legal right to seek legal counsel and assistance after the accident. In this incident, these two workers will be entitled to submit workers’ compensation claims, which can help them to mitigate some of the financial losses they may have incurred, such as medical bills and lost pay. In California, injured workers typically choose to consult experienced workers’ compensation lawyers to help them with the process of filing their claims.
