Because of the risks that all workers in California and across the country face, there are a variety of different safety measures in place. Additionally, many employees have access to safety equipment that will further help protect them while they complete their job-related tasks. Unfortunately, even these measures can not completely eradicate the possibility of a workplace accident.

In fact, a man in another state recently lost his life in a workplace accident that happened at an industrial site. According to reports, rescue workers were called to a Tyson Fresh Meats facility at approximately 5:30 a.m. on a day in late March. Reports indicate that the man was performing maintenance on an assembly line at the time of the accident.

Unfortunately, it is believed that his safety harness became caught in a belt. Reports indicate that another employer was able to extricate that man from the equipment. Unfortunately, the 30-year-old victim was pronounced dead after he was transported to the hospital.

According to reports, the investigation into the workplace accident is ongoing. It is because an accident such as this can occur even when safety equipment is used and appropriate procedures followed that states, including California, require employers to provide workers’ compensation insurance benefits. These benefits can help injured workers or their surviving family members in the event of a fatality such as this with the financial consequences of an accident such as this. Fortunately, there are experienced professionals who can help those who deserve such compensation as they pursue a fair settlement.
